       Notes - general: Abstract: Tests have been carried out to determine the
                        principal factors influemcing the rate of outgassing
                        from bridge deck concretes, and the performance of
                        different liquid membrane types when applied to
                        outgrassing concrete.  The important role of moisture
                        content has been identified with high outgrassing
                        occuring in concrete with low moisture contents.  The
                        least risk of defects due to ougassing occurs in
                        saturated, but surface dry concrete.
