       Notes - general: Abstract: This report isconcerned with a study ofGrade
                        Separated Junctions undertaken in 1990/91.  Findings
                        from extensive survey related to how driver behave at
                        current designs of merges, diverges and weaving
                        sections on motorways and all-purpose roads.  A
                        notable feature is the incidence of "turbulance" in
                        traffic flow caused by merging and diverging traffic.
                        This turbalance affects all mainline traffic and
                        reduces lane capacity on the mainline.  This leads to
                        flow brakdown at busy times, affecting all traffic.
