        Notes contents: A trial of an automatic number-plate recognition
                        system for monitoring journey times took place on the
                        M62 between junctions 24 & 6 between November 27th
                        1996 and January 11th 1997.  This trial tested the
                        Racal Talon system.  The number-plates data obtained
                        from the site was analysed and journey times
                        calculated by matching the number-plates.
