                        types and tyre pressures

Notes - general: Tests were carried out at the Pavement Test Facility
to investigate the relative effects on pavement wear
of single and dual wheels and the different types of
tyre pressures. The results suggest that single
wheels cause substantial more wear, both in terms of
fatigue and deformation, than dual wheels for the same
wheel load. In comparison the effect of changes to
tyre pressure appear to be relatively small.
