Notes - general: This report looks at the standard of workmanship
achieved in the fixing of steel reinforcement in
highway bridges with regard to concrete cover.
Concrete cover is the depth of the steel reinforcement
within a member, perpendicular tot eh concrete surface
and is provided to ensure that the steel is fully
bonded to the concrete and to protect the steel
against detrimental environmental factors.
