       Notes - general: Following a study visit to examine the Fast Track
                        Concrete paving system developed in Iowa, a full scale
                        trial has been constructed at kettering to verify that
                        the technique could be used successfully under UK
                        conditions.  Two adjoining lanes of a single
                        carriageway road were constructed on successive days
                        and opened to traffic within 24 hours of completion.
                        Strength, sufficient to meet the criterion for
                        trafficking, was reached within 12 hours.
