It is increasingly important to consider the future implications arising from alternative construction and maintenance options on road pavements. To help assess the future costs a whole life model has been developed for both flexibile and rigid pavements. Both the direct costs of maintenance works and the costs to the road user are included and the model can be used to examine new and existing pavements. It is this model that the report here is concerned with.
