A revised series of test requirements for the approval certification of waterproofing membranes for concrete bridge decks has been devised by the Transport and Road Research Laboratory. Selective tests and test rigs have been developed under contract by materials Engineering and Research Laboratory Ltd. These tests are intended to replace the current Department of Transport checks and tests and are based on the results of extensive surveys, tests and field trials. they have been designed to cover more appropriately the conditions met in service.
