Tne increaes in mobile phones during the last decade has led to the emergency services experiencing difficulties when locating incidents which are reported to them by drivers. The provision of location information forms an important part of our lives whether we want to know where we are or where something is. The A to Z of a town and the use of street names and landmarks allows us to determine where we are, however on the motorways and trunk road network there is little to uniquely define our location.
