Description
It is intended to introduce new, more accurate, inspection procedures for highway structures by sub-dividing each structure (where necessary) into local sections for referencing and reporting purposes. This project was initiated to develop consistent referencing rules across the network, enabling historical inspection records for individual structures to be stored digitally on Structures Management Information System (SMIS), and to be clearly understood and by successive Maintaining Agents responsible for structures upkeep.
